SIMON OLNEY

I have been in the sport of triathlon since 2012, and working as a coach since 2016. As a British Triathlon High Performing coach, certified nutrition coach and strength coach, I am well placed to help you with more than just writing a training plan

Before working in triathlon I was a lighting designer in the film industry, juggling the long hours and high pressure with my training. Unlike most other coaches, I know what it's like to train while holding down a job outside the world of sport. 

I have completed all distances of triathlon with a handful of wins to my name. When not training or coaching I can be found volunteering with the local scout group or walking my retired greyhound.

A training plan is the cornerstone of a coaching programme. We never deliver copy and paste plans, with each plan written on a week by week basis, delivered via TrainingPeaks and sent straight to your training device.

Missed most of last week due to a big work deadline? Looking after an unwell family member? Jetting off on a last minute business trip? All of these are taken into consideration every week, with edits made midweek where necessary.

We are also more than happy to build a plan around group training sessions. Big fan of the local Thursday night group ride? parkrun addict? Attend a Sunday morning swim squad? These can all be incorporated into your plan.

Your training plan should be as individual as you are, helping you improve without being constantly exhausted or playing catch-up.

Nutrition is a confusing and overwhelming subject. Whether you are trying to work out what is the best thing to eat before a long ride, calculating how many grams of sodium you need on race day, or what your daily protein target should be, it can leave your head in a spin.

With my premium triathlon coaching, you can get daily feedback on your diet. If you choose to track what you eat, I can provide insight on how to improve your diet to maximise energy levels, recover faster from workouts, and make sure you start your sessions properly fuelled.

REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY

The biggest reason endurance athletes fail to achieve their goals is injury. Someone starts training getting faster, running longer and seeing improvements until an injury derails all their progress. 

By combining a gradual, sustainable increase in volume with a strength programme built around you, we can massively reduce the chance of injury. 

It would be foolhardy of me to promise that you won't get injured training with me, but I'll do everything I can to minimise the risk. If the worst does happen, we can provide you discounted rates with our physiotherapy partners to get you back training as soon as possible.

PRICING

Anyone with a big goal in triathlon will work with a coach, nutritionist and strength trainer to ensure they're optimising every aspect of their performance, with some spending several thousands a month.

With my premium coaching you can get all the above for £400 a month, with no minimum commitment.

This is obviously a premium price point, as you'd expect for the level of service, but let's compare it to other triathlon expenses:
