ACHIEVE YOUR POTENTIAL WITH BESPOKE COACHING
Cut through confusion, find accountability and race faster for less effort when you work with Phazon Triathlon

Triathlon is confusing enough, let's not overcomplicate it
Pragmatic coaching for busy people
I don't expect you to train for 25 hours a week, won't scold you for missing workouts or insist you to swim five days back to back. I build training plans for real people with stressful jobs, busy family lives and big dreams.
"Having never done a triathlon and not being a confident swimmer, Simon's personalised coaching enabled me to complete a: sprint, middle distance, and most importantly Ironman Tenby all in the space of a year."
SPEND LESS TIME ON ADMIN, MORE TIME DOING THE THINGS YOU LOVE
Triathlon is a confusing and sometimes overwhelming sport. Whether you're trying to understand which bike is the best for you to buy or how to improve your swimming technique, this can take up a huge amount of time and headspace. Working with me allows you to streamline this process.
After all, time you save on triathlon admin is more time you can spend training or with your loved ones.

COACHING IS TRIATHLON INSURANCE
You have a big goal. You're investing hundreds of hours of your precious time as well as thousands spent on entry fees bikes, flights, technology, nutrition, pool fees, wetsuits and clothing to name just a few.
If you fail to achieve your goal, that's a very costly way to feel disappointed. While I can never promise that we will achieve your goals together, the odds of you finishing will skyrocket when we work together.
My monthly coaching programme may cost a first time Ironman athlete less than 5% of their budget. Surely that's a worthwhile investment to almost guarantee a finish?
"He was the first trainer I had who read my feedback and reacted accordingly, adjusting planned workouts, and offering advice."

SIMON OLNEY
I have been working as a professional triathlon coach since 2016, and racing since 2012. As a British Triathlon High Performing coach, Certified Nutrition coach and L4 strength coach, I am well placed to help you with more than just writing a training plan
Before working in triathlon I was a lighting designer in the film industry, combining long hours and incredibly high pressure with my training. Unlike most other coaches, I understand how it feels juggling endurance sport with a full time job.
I have completed all distances of triathlon with a handful of wins to my name. When not training or coaching I can be found volunteering with the local scout group or walking my retired greyhound.

"If you’re thinking about taking the leap, Simon is the coach to make it happen"

A fully bespoke training plan
A training plan is the cornerstone of a coaching programme. We never deliver copy and paste plans, with each plan written on an individual basis.
As the plan is written on a monthly basis I can adjust the training depending on how the previous month of training has gone. Feeling a bit pedestrian? We can ramp the training up. Lost a week due to illness? We can help you ease back into things.
We are also more than happy to build a plan around group training sessions. Big fan of the local Thursday night group ride? parkrun addict? Attend a Sunday morning swim squad? These can all be incorporated into your plan.
Your training plan should be as individual as you are, helping you improve without being constantly exhausted or playing catch-up.
"If you are lucky enough to have a chance at working with Simon, you should definitely go for it!"
Monthly Coach Contact
While a training plan is of course a valuable component of any triathlete's preparation, the more holistic side of triathlon coaching is where real gains are made.
It doesn't matter how fit you are if your nutrition strategy is poor, your tyre pressures are wrong or you overtrained and ended up in a hole for several weeks.
Our monthly check ins are a valuable time for you to ask for help with all aspects of your racing and training. We can set new progress goals, help recommend the best kit for you to buy, help you with your diet, or anything else you would like some guidance with.

"He is a professional. He is eager to share all his triathlon knowledge"

DIAL IN YOUR NUTRITION
Nutrition is a confusing and overwhelming subject. Whether you are trying to work out what is the best thing to eat before a long ride, calculating how many grams of sodium you need on race day, or what your daily protein target should be, it can leave your head in a spin.
As a Certified Nutrition Coach I can help you navigate the confusing world of nutrition to ensure you're properly fuelling your workouts, recovering well and maintaining a healthy relationship with food.
"I ended up completing the ironman in just over 10 hours with Simon's logistical & nutritional advice as important as the fitness gain"

REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY
The biggest reason endurance athletes fail to achieve their goals is injury. Someone starts training getting faster, running longer and seeing improvements until an injury derails all their progress.
By combining a gradual, sustainable increase in volume with a strength programme built around you, we can massively reduce the chance of injury.
It would be foolhardy of me to promise that you won't get injured training with me, but I'll do everything I can to minimise the risk. If the worst does happen, we can provide you discounted rates with our physiotherapy partners to get you back training as soon as possible.

"I used Simon for my first Ironman 70.3 in Venice and the whole experience was incredible"
LIFETIME ACCESS TO EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

Between swimming, cycling, running, strength, nutrition and race day itself, there are so many points for me to cover, that I have condensed all my knowledge on individual subjects into courses for you to take.
Whether you need help with your race day nutrition or want to how zone 2 works, you get instant lifetime access to all of my courses when you sign up with my coaching programme.
PRICING
Anyone with a big goal in triathlon will work with a coach, nutritionist and strength trainer to ensure they're optimising every aspect of their performance, with some spending in excess of £1000 a month.
When you work with me, you get all three of these for £120 a month.
I'm not going to suggest this is pocket change, but let's compare it to other triathlon expenses:
Annual membership to a health club: £2400
Cervelo P3X triathlon bike: £8799
Zipp Super-9 disc wheel: £2450
Zone 3 Vanquish-X wetsuit: £699
IRONMAN entry fee: £649
Return plane ticket to Kona for a single adult- £1400
Where a fancy wetsuit and disc wheel might shave a few minutes off of your race time, and a triathlon bike might be worth 15 minutes over an Ironman, my coaching has routinely helped people shave hours off of their Ironman time.
So, what do you think? Places are limited and race day is getting closer.
