While it would be foolhardy of me to suggest I can prevent injuries altogether, stronger muscles, more resilient tendons and a focus on muscle groups which get neglected in the rest of our training will reduce the chances of you being sidelined with injury, losing fitness while your competition is out there crushing it.

When I came into the sport, I had no experience of strength training. My first visit to a gym was a disaster, and I even got called out by the personal trainer who did my induction for not being there enough!

Despite my talent on the run, I found myself sidelined with achilles, IT band and knee pain. I was a glass cannon, very fast but prone to breaking. This is when I decided to invest time in strength work, allowing me to get back to the sport I love.

When I started coaching I knew I wanted strength training to be a cornerstone of my offering, so invested thousands to become a fully qualified strength and conditioning coach. It's my mission to help athletes integrate strength into their training without it dominating their schedule.
