Need some help with your training?

Triathlon is the world's most complex sport bar none. Not only do you have to learn swimming, cycling and running, you also need to master transitioning between the sports, as well as nutrition and pacing.

And that's only race day. In training we need to manage juggling three different sports with strength work and eating well enough to fuel our training, but not to the point we'll put on unnecessary body fat. 

Which intensity should we train at? How many sessions should we do? What should our rest periods be? Which order should we do sessions in? How long should our longest sessions be? There are dozens of factors to consider and juggle.

 

 Find Your Sweetspot

If you want more than a training plan but don't want to commit to a full coaching relationship, then a consultation could be right for you. 

It's a one off session where you can pick the brains of a highly qualified coach to help you ensure you are making the most of your training time. 

I can help answer any questions you have regarding the sport of triathlon. If I can't help you off the top of my head, I will go away, find the answers and get back to you.

What we can cover

Each consultation is different, but here are some ideas of what we can cover in our session. You don't have to pick just one, we have a whole 90 minutes to cover as much as you want

Training Structure

Knowing how often train each sport, which intensities to train at and when to take recovery weeks can feel like a dark art. I can help you create a sustainable structure while maximising results.

Nutrition

Knowing what to eat and when it critical for triathlon performance. Whether it's what to eat before and after training or refuelling mid workout I can help

Technique

One of the easiest ways to improve is to become more efficient. Bring along a video of you swimming, cycling or running and I'll give you some pointers

Planning a Season

Knowing which events to target, how to spread them out over a season or which events to prioritise can feel like a puzzle. I can help make sure you have an engaging race season without over committing

Race Planning

If you have a race coming up but you don't know what to target, what to eat or how to approach each leg, I can work to help you create a bespoke race plan to help you achieve your potential on race day without blowing up

Data Analysis

You've recorded a huge treasure trove of training data, but don't know what to do with it. I can go through all your data using industry leading software to help you understand where you can improve. 

Meet Your Coach

My name is Simon Olney. I left my life in the film industry in 2016 to pursue a career as a triathlon coach to help age group athletes like you find their finish line. 

My goal is to help athletes achieve their goals without triathlon dominating their life. Unlike most other coaches I have lived a life outside of sport, so understand how difficult it can be to juggle training with a full time job.

I am a British Triathlon High Performing Coach, Certified Nutrition Coach, Strength and Conditioning coach, Level 4 Personal Trainer and winner of the Triathlon England Volunteer of the Year award.

I feel I am well positioned and experienced in the world of triathlon to help you remove the barriers to your performance and achieve your potential in triathlon.
